GRAD NIGHT BOOSTER FUNDRAISER

(GIFT CARDS)

Need gift cards for year-end gifts, for gifting to graduating students in your friend circle, for birthday parties? We can help! Grad night committee has signed up with Great Lake scrip center, www.shopwithscrip.com.

 

They provide nonprofit organizations with Gift cards to various businesses at a rebate. Parents pay the face value of the gift card, which they can conveniently pick from Grad Night scrip coordinator.

 

Rebates earned by committee helps raise funds for the Grad Night party. We plan to place order around May 1st, with delivery by May 10th.

The City of Cupertino and Safe Routes to School are planning a network of bicycle-friendly routes along local residential streets throughout the City in order to encourage bicycling. These 'Bike Boulevards' will contain bicycle-friendly and traffic-calming features, and are designed especially for those riders who may not feel comfortable traveling along the major streets.

 

Please come to an open house on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Guided Learning Center at Collins Elementary School (10300 N Blaney Ave). The open house will feature a series of presentations on the preliminary designs of the proposed bike boulevards throughout the City. Drop in during the presentation you’re most interested in or whenever works best for you. See the Attached Flyer for the presentation schedule and color-coded map.

HSA Awards

Each year, Cupertino High School honors individuals from our Community and Staff who represent the best in working for our children, school, and community.

 Some people make very visible contributions while others work quietly behind the scenes. Outstanding contributions are made in the classrooms, office, library, booster clubs, PTA, leading parcel tax efforts, community involvement, School Site Council, the list goes on.

 Do you know of someone who should be recognized? Please take a minute to nominate that deserving person for this year’s Honorary Service Award.

Partnering with the ASB, the Cupertino High PTSA will be sponsoring a fun event that includes Student Performances, Games, Competitions, prizes and free food to foster community, taking responsibility and celebrate arrival of spring for the students.  The event is planned and fully managed by ASB and student volunteers but we need parent volunteers for supervision, support and encourage student during the event.  We’ve set up two shifts 3 – 4:30 & 4:30 – 6 for parents to sign up to help.

Ready to go to college!?!

Hear from Cupertino High alums and parents who will share their experiences and perspectives to ease your transition to college and share approaches that worked well for them. Their insight will hopefully ease any anxiety and prepare you to navigate your new life at college.

Be pro-active and come to hear what to expect, what to do, and other details to help make the transition to college easier for you and your parents! Tips on what to do this summer, what to take for moving day, college life, making friends, finances, keeping in touch, college academics, fitting in, time management, college safety, visiting home, etc. You will get to hear from someone who has been there, done that!

Topics and panel discussion will be facilitated by Syrous Parsay, who has spoken at our Roadmap to College lectures.

Syrous Parsay is a retired inventor and entrepreneur. He frequently lectures on topics such as disruptive technologies, entrepreneurship, science and dimensions of wellness, financial planning, college planning, and more. Mr. Parsay is also a mentor to a broad demographic of individuals from high school students to corporate executives.

Target audience: Seniors and their parents.

The Fremont Union High School District, in partnership with the City of Cupertino Parks & Recreation Department, is pleased to offer summer sessions of the popular College Planning and College Essay Workshops for High School Juniors (class of 2018). The College Planning Workshops, offered on 4 of our campuses and taught by experienced FUHSD Guidance Counselors and College Advisors, will help students to identify goals and plans for college, organize the college search and manage the application process. Students will have several opportunities to work one-on-one with instructors to revise their plans.   The College Essay Workshop, offered at all 5 campuses and taught by FUHSD English teachers, will help students learn about the UC and Common Application essay prompts, select one prompt, and then draft, revise, and finalize one essay.  For more information and to register for a class, please open the documents below.  The deadline for first round of registration is Wednesday, April 26, 2017.  For more information, please contact Josh Maisel, Coordinator of Academic Interventions, at (408)522-2297.
