Support CHS with eScrip!

eScrip is proven to be a fantastic resource for fundraising where participating business partners contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty card, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to the organization of your choice at NO COST TO YOU. Visit the family of merchants for a complete list of participants in the program.

Here's How it Works:

  • Register any one or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in the program.  Choose Cupertino High School ASB (6499420) as your group.
  • Participating merchants will make contributions to your chosen group, based on purchases made by you, when you use the cards you have registered.
  • Your purchases are tracked and available to you online, allowing you to see just how much you are earning on your child's behalf!

Online shopping - eScrip offers this same benefit at their Online Mall.  Simply start your online shopping by selecting your retailer through the Online Mall and then shop as usual.  Again, the merchant will pay CHS ASB a percentage of your total purchase at no cost to you.  Download AutoEarn for eScrip and you will automatically earn on your eligible online purchases – no need to remember to go to eScrip first.

NEW to eScrip – FRESH & EASY.  If you shop at Fresh & Easy, you can earn up to 5% on your purchases.  Register your Fresh & Easy Friends card to get started.

Reminder for loyal eScrip participants!  Log in to your eScrip account and check that your credit card and loyalty card information is up to date.  If it isn’t, we may be losing donations.  We currently have 810 registered participants, but of those, only 492 earned contributions for our school during this calendar year.

Safeway shoppers! It is important that you know that Safeway (our largest contributor) is no longer contributing on purchases made with a credit card.  This is making quite an impact on our earnings.  An alternative for credit card shoppers is to buy Safeway gift cards and then use those gift cards to buy your groceries.  You can still earn your points with your credit card (when purchasing the gift card) AND earn cash for the school (when using a gift card instead of a credit card at check out).  All other forms of payment still earn contributions.

  • Career OPtions

COPs is a series of monthly seminars focused on a career option. A panel of two to three speakers from a given career field provide their perspectives to the students. The seminars are open to all students. We need parent volunteers to help in identifying and organizing panels and bringing speakers. If you can be a speaker or can help with this program, please see the volunteer form or contact Vandana Agarwal.

  • Job Shadow

In 2012-2013, students had an opportunity to explore the Executive Briefing Center and saw the Telepresence technology at Cisco systems headquarters in San Jose through a job shadow experience. If you are willing to organize an event at your company and inspire our students with exposure to the products and business of your company, please get in touch with PTSA through volunteer form or contact Vandana Agarwal to discuss your idea and timeline.


March Happenings from the PTSA

Thanks to the CHS WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) Accreditation Team
Thank you to the following parents who have given their time over the past year to be a part of focus group meetings for the WASC Accreditation process.  They worked alongside CHS staff members in 5 focus groups that met several times last spring and a few times this school year in order to work on our self-study and audit of CHS.  The focus groups were: Organization and Leadership, Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Student Support.

Thanks to Vandana Agarwal, our VP of Student Programs, in collaboration with Premier One Credit Union, for organizing a financial management seminar where they will learn techniques to set financial goals and concepts necessary for smart money management. This will be offered to all Juniors on March 17 and 18th following the college planning workshops.  Encourage your children to attend.

March 18 7-9pm in the Cafeteria.  Our monthly PTSA meeting will follow our event featuring Sheriff Lee Hickinbotham discussing Teen Issues and Lillie Arranaga with a demonstration of Naviance. All free tickets have already been distributed.

The Edge program for SAT prep is economical and effective, offered at CHS beginning March 31.  See the flyer .

FUNDRAISER FOR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS - Hosted by the Fremont Union High Schools Foundation

Everyone is invited to a fun evening of food (vegetarian gourmet Indian food or all-you-can-eat crab), drinks, music and auction items to raise funds for the Fremont Union High Schools District on Friday, April 3, 2015, from 5:30pm to 8pm at the De Anza College student center in Cupertino.  All proceeds support students at Fremont, Homestead, Cupertino, Lynbrook and Monta Vista High Schools).  Tickets are $45 in advance or $55 at the door.  Purchase tickets via or at the school office. See flyer.

April 8 6-7pm in the Cafeteria:  A Reception "Honoring our Own" in which we will honor parents and staff who go above and beyond in their support of our children at CHS.  If you are a volunteer in any area at CHS, we welcome you to come so we can thank you as well as a few key individuals who will be honored.

April 8 7-9pm PTSA Association and Election Meeting in the Cafeteria.  Everyone is welcome!

April 9  Soup and Salad Lunch for the Staff by CHS parents

April 24Tino Olympics (Carnival) 3:15-6:00pm Save the Date

Have Fun with teens and their parents?  Yes!   Let’s enjoy some fun time with our teens.  

Please join us for our first TInolympics – a carnival event with a Greek theme on Friday April 24 from 3:15-6pm!   We plan to have several events (inflatables, tug of war, cupcake wars contest, dads running in high heels contest, mom’s football throw), DJ, photo booth, and food.  The activities are free, but the food will have to be purchased.The classes will be competing for spirit points and will earn points based on participation by students, parents, and siblings.  

We need parents to make it happen, especially to volunteer for 1 hour shifts to help run the activities and to check-in students.  Look for a volunteer request soon – but don’t worry, everyone will have a chance to spend at least 2 hours with their children in the fun TinoOlympics! 

May 23 10-12pm Senior Send-off

We will have a workshop for parents and seniors about embarking on the first year of college.  Please join a panel of recent Cupertino graduates who will discuss their experiences during their first year out of college.  Look for an EventBrite invitation soon.

Emails - We have heard from a few people that they are not receiving PTSA emails.  We cannot add you to our list without you providing us with your email address (the school cannot share that information with us).  Please complete the PTSA Membership Form and return it to the school office to the attention of PTSA Membership - you do not need to become a member to receive emails, but it is not too late to join PTSA if you choose to do so.  The form is a two sided form - it is OK to print it back to back.
