November PTSA Meeting


Our November meeting was well attended. Many thanks to FUHSD Superintendent Polly Bove, Board member Bill Wilson, and Special Principal John Dwyer for coming and speaking about changes in our district and giving an update on the district. We appreciated the information that was presented. For those who missed the meeting, the slides are here
 
We also would like to thank Science Dept Chair Teri Hanigan for presenting an update on the science department and giving an update on the AP Environmental Science Course.
 
We will have the association meeting on Dec 13th at 7pm.

Reflections Art Recognition Program, 2016-17 School Year

"What is Your Story?" is the theme of the 2016/17 PTSA Reflections Art Program. 

 

CHS students are invited to explore their world through art by choreographing a dance, producing a film, writing a poem or short story, composing a song, snapping a photograph or creating a piece of visual art that reflects on and interprets the theme, What is Your Story?

Entries are due in the school office by 9 am, Tuesday, October 18th.  Multiple entries in one or more categories are welcome.
The six categories are dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts (including 3-D art). 
Students with a 504 or IEP are encouraged to participate, and may enter in the Special Artist Division.
Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and three pieces from each category will be selected to move up to the next level. 

 

Note: 

  • Please DO NOT include your name on the front of your entry. 
  • Every entry must include a Student Entry Form.
  • Dance, film and photography entries must include a Local Consent Form. 
  • Music and film entries must be submitted on a CD (2 copies, please), NOT USB drive.  Be certain to use one of the file formats specified in the guidelines.
  • The student or a parent must be a member of the CHS PTSA to participate in the Reflections Art Recognition Program.

PTSA Volunteer Program

Volunteering is a wonderful way to stay in touch with the happenings at CHS and a way for you to meet CHS parents, staff and administrators. Parent volunteers are needed for a variety of important school-wide programs and events.  Please know that even a few hours of your time can make a tremendous difference!

Requests for Reimbursement, Requests for Payment Authorization and Check Advances should be made by sending the appropriate form to Priya Krishnakumar dropped in the PTSA mailbox in the school office, or brought to the monthly PTSA meeting.  All forms must have receipts or invoices attached.
