Support CHS with eScrip!

eScrip is proven to be a fantastic resource for fundraising where participating business partners contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty card, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to the organization of your choice at NO COST TO YOU. Visit the family of merchants for a complete list of participants in the program.

Here's How it Works:

  • Register any one or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in the program.  Choose Cupertino High School ASB (6499420) as your group.
  • Participating merchants will make contributions to your chosen group, based on purchases made by you, when you use the cards you have registered.
  • Your purchases are tracked and available to you online, allowing you to see just how much you are earning on your child's behalf!

HOLIDAY SHOPPING - eScrip offers this same benefit at their Online Mall.  Simply start your online shopping by selecting your retailer through the Online Mall and then shop as usual.  Again, the merchant will pay CHS ASB a percentage of your total purchase at no cost to you.  Download AutoEarn for eScrip and you will automatically earn on your eligible online purchases – no need to remember to go to eScrip first.

NEW to eScrip – FRESH & EASY.  If you shop at Fresh & Easy, you can earn up to 5% on your purchases.  Register your Fresh & Easy Friends card to get started.

Reminder for loyal eScrip participants!  Log in to your eScrip account and check that your credit card and loyalty card information is up to date.  If it isn’t, we may be losing donations.  We currently have 810 registered participants, but of those, only 492 earned contributions for our school during this calendar year.

Safeway shoppers! It is important that you know that Safeway (our largest contributor) is no longer contributing on purchases made with a credit card.  This is making quite an impact on our earnings.  An alternative for credit card shoppers is to buy Safeway gift cards and then use those gift cards to buy your groceries.  You can still earn your points with your credit card (when purchasing the gift card) AND earn cash for the school (when using a gift card instead of a credit card at check out).  All other forms of payment still earn contributions.

Questions about eScrip at Cupertino?  Contact Kim Zea.

More student programs to come!

Please stay tuned for some of the following programs :
  • Career OPtions

COPs is a series of monthly seminars focused on a career option. A panel of two to three speakers from a given career field provide their perspectives to the students. The seminars are open to all students. We need parent volunteers to help in identifying and organizing panels and bringing speakers. If you can be a speaker or can help with this program, please see the volunteer form or contact Vandana Agarwal.

  • Job Shadow

In 2012-2013, students had an opportunity to explore the Executive Briefing Center and saw the Telepresence technology at Cisco systems headquarters in San Jose through a job shadow experience. If you are willing to organize an event at your company and inspire our students with exposure to the products and business of your company, please get in touch with PTSA through volunteer form or contact Vandana Agarwal to discuss your idea and timeline.

November Happenings from the PTSA

In December all parents are welcome to contribute items for a staff brunch on Friday, December 19th. Contact Nancy Boyle or Paula Rowe to sign-up.

It's not too late - anytime is the right time to join the CHS PTSA and/or enroll in eScrip.  Form and information can be found here.

January 27th Career Fair – Parental Assistance will be Needed

Each year the PTSA funds grant requests from CHS staff members for resources that the school or district cannot fund.  We are now accepting grant requests from the staff for this school year.  The deadline for submission is December 5.  A PTSA committee will review all requests and submit recommendations to the PTSA at the January board meeting with a final vote to be made at the February association meeting.  Below are examples of items we funded last year:

  • Challenge Success package for 2014/15
  • Outdoor fitness training station
  • iPad 2 for the English department (for a pilot program)
  • Reusable frames for the art show
  • Reusable photo mats and backing boards for computer science
  • Apple TV and connectors for special education
  • Camera for improved photo quality on the web-site
  • Document cameras for all classrooms
  • Additional bicycle racks
  • Covered trash cans for the quad (seagull proof)

If you know of a need, please contact the staff member associated with that need (teacher, coach, etc.) and remind them of the grant process as a method of receiving funding.  If they have questions, they can contact Kim Zea.

Thank you for your support of the students and staff at Cupertino High School through your PTSA dues and donations.
